This new locker room helped establish Michigan as one of the top hockey programs in the country, and the Wolverines soon started to dominate college hockey.

Despite being state of the art at the time, the Yost Arena locker room eventually became outdated, and in 2012, the University unveiled plans for a new $14 million locker room renovation. The new locker room is considered one of the best in all of college hockey, and the players were thrilled with the new space when it opened in 2013.
The new locker room is designed to help the team prepare for games in the most comfortable environment possible. The locker room features a lounge area with leather couches, flat-screen TVs, and a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator and microwave. There is also a team meeting room with a projector and whiteboard where the coaches can go over game footage with the players.
