North Dakota Fighting Hawks Women'S Ice Hockey

North Dakota Fighting Hawks Women's Ice Hockey is a college hockey team that represents the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The team plays their home games at the Ralph Engelstad Arena, which is also the home of the men's team. The Fighting Hawks are a Division I team and play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

History

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks Women's Ice Hockey program began in the 2002-2003 season. The team played their first game on October 4, 2002, against the University of Manitoba.
The program has had its share of success. The Fighting Hawks won their first conference championship in the 2010–11 season when they won the WCHA tournament. They followed it up with another tournament championship in the 2011–12 season.
